Opposing effects of plant growth regulators via clonal integration on apical and basal performance in alligator weed

چکیده

Abstract Invasive plants are a major threat to biodiversity and may adversely affect food security. Clonal integration enables the sharing of resources between connected ramets can enhance plant performance in many invasive species. However, few studies have examined role clonal when weeds exposed growth regulators (PGRs). PGRs used extensively agriculture nearby through soil leaching, erosion runoff. Our aim was investigate effects on noxious weed, Alternanthera philoxeroides (alligator weed), response two frequently agriculture, gibberellins (GAs) paclobutrazol (PAC). Ramets A. were propagated greenhouse, treated with PGRs. applied older (i.e. ‘basal’ part), half having stems apical (younger) basal parts left connected, while remaining had severed. Following growing period, measured for traits. We found that GA PAC contrasting growth. significantly promoted above-ground via integration. Alternatively, inhibited parts, enhanced below-ground results highlight how promote following application PGRs, which is likely an important mechanism this species invade new environments.

Effects of Plant Growth Regulators and Explant on Callus Induction in Cuminum cymium L.

Cumin (Cuminum cyminum L.) as a member of the Apiaceae family is one of the most important medicinal plants in Iran. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of plant growth regulators and explant type on callus induction in cumin. For this purpose the cumin seeds (Kuhbanan accession) were disinfected with sodium hypochlorite and alcohol and cultured on MS basal medium. Leaf and hypo...

The Interaction Effects of Boron and Plant Growth Regulators on Pollen Germination of Almond

The aim of this study was to determine the effects of different plant growth regulators, NAA (0 mg/l, 50 mg/l and 100 mg/l) and GA3 (0 mg/l, 50 mg/l and 100 mg/l), with various boron concentrations (0 mg/l, 50 mg/l and 100 mg/l) on pollen germination of ‘Şaba’, ‘Rabie’ and ‘Padre’ almond cultivars in 10% sucrose and 1% agar medium at 24°C in dark conditions. The results showed that different tr...
